So you want to eventually quit your day job so you can spend your days at home with family? Affiliate marketing may be the answer. However, much like any other industry there can be serious obstacles to initial start up. If you can approach affiliate marketing with a decent education on the subject, some luck, and some common sense, you should be on your way to success in no time.
There are many affiliate programs on the internet, and each one has its benefits and its flaws. The advice in this article is meant to be applied towards Clickbank, but also could be applied to any other campaign
Five Tips to help you get started
1. Don’t buy every e-book, “course, or “system” that you find. The reasoning behind this is quite simple; there are many people out there who want nothing more than to sell you an inferior product for your hard earned money. I personally always like to believe that people are basically good, but many affiliate marketers go against this logic! When you see a “course” you may wish to purchase, I would advise doing a Google or Yahoo search for a review. For example: a popular e-course is the “Rich Jerk” e-book. If you wanted to learn more about it you would search “Rich Jerk review”, or another similar combination of words. The results will give you a better idea of whether or not the “course” is worth the money.
2. ” Gurus” are often nothing more than creative BS artists, and their advice should be taken with a grain of salt. A truly knowledgeable and legitimate individual recognizes that they don’t have all the answers and that some strategies won’t work for everyone. The average “guru” will make the claim that their course is absolute and failure is impossibility. The irony of this logic is that many “guru” pages have an earnings disclaimer tucked away at the bottom of their page.
3. Don’t invest more than you can afford to lose. We all want to make money online, but running a high cost PPC (Pay Per Click) campaign without the right skills can rob you of your funds very quickly. Affiliate marketing is a business, and like any business you must be prepared for a loss. Hopefully though with a bit of luck and hard work you will see nothing but the black!
4. Don’t expect “the big bucks” overnight. Like any business, your affiliate marketing endeavors will take time to grow. No one gets it right the first time, so don’t feel bad when you don’t “make hundreds while you sleep” as many gurus so often say.
5. Only trust reputable sources of information. A cheap affiliate review site is set up just to make the owner a quick profit. It really pays volumes to undertake your own diligent research. I’m sure you wouldn’t hand money to a door to door salesman if he claimed to be selling water from the fountain of youth; yet many people are deceived into handing money over to dubious tricksters.
I’ve been engaging in various e-commerce ventures for sometime, and I’ve seen many bogus programs. Most programs these days are pure garbage and they disgust me. The only recent program I have personally found to be helpful is The Ultimate Wealth Package, to read more about it, please click here
I have been very lucky over these past several years in my e-commerce ventures. It is my sincerest hope that you’re online business venture goes well. God bless you and all of your loved ones.
